Megan Drives a Beamer!!

Today, Megan and I had to get the oil changed in the Forester. Our Subaru dealership is adjacent to the BMW dealership, and they have a really nice children's room in their waiting area which we played in while we waited. They had added a new toy since our last visit, and it was just Megan's size!!

Megan also had fun playing with the other toys in the room. We even got to play with a dog - Rocky - who was there with his owner waiting on their car.

Megan had such fun test driving the BMW, she decided to try "driving" the Forester, too!!

Little Pumpkins

Our little pumpkin really likes to play with the big orange pumpkin!!

She also likes wearing her halloween kitty hat from Uncle Kevin and Vicky, who along with Beth, Kenny, Brian S, and Jamie came over to hang out with us a few weeks ago. We even got to see Brian S and Jamie's new little pumpkin, Trey.

Family Time

A few weeks ago, Megan and I took a trip to Albemarle for a few days to spend time with Granddaddy and Grandmommy Sinclair. We had a GREAT time!!

We saw the horses and played in the horse trailer...

We played with Megan's new horse from Granddaddy and Grandmommy...

And we went to Lake Norman and saw boats and ducks...

We also got to spend some time with Grandmommy Herring.

And last week we went to Raleigh to hang out with Aunt Beth...

On the Move

After weeks of thinking about it, Megan finally crawled!! Megan's been on the move for about 3 weeks now. Her first inches forward were a little awkward - she'd put one knee on the ground and push off with her other foot. Brian said she looked like a peg-legged pirate. But it only took about a week or so for her to get both knees on the ground. Now, she's everywhere and everywhere fast!!

Here's video of Megan's first little crawls:

Carrot Face

Mom took a small blog vacation...but I'm back and ready to blog. Sit back and grab some pop corn and catch up with the Herring family.

When Megan turned six months old, we started her on solid foods. Other than some obvious (and smelly!) digestive changes, she has really done well with the food -- no bad reactions. We started with rice cereal and after a few weeks, moved on to carrots. After a few funny faces of disgust, she ate them! We took some video of her first tries with the carrots, but Daddy is still working on editing it down. We'll post it if we ever get it finished!

She's also eaten green peas, squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches, pears, prunes, and applesauce. The squash and green beans have been her favorite veggies, and bananas her favorite fruit.

Eating is definitely a messy part of our day. We end up with food everywhere! This picture may look messy, but this is actually a pretty clean meal!

Now, aren't you glad I didn't say grab some carrots and catch up with us!!!
